Making the same assumptions as Zardoz... I show up to my D&D games kilted all the time. Gamers are already the outcasts of society, so I doubt any of our ilk would really care They'll think it's either cool, or not noteworthy enough to distract them from the amusement before them.
Edit: Additional.
If you showed up in your race attire to a game session and no one took issue, I doubly doubt anyone would if you came kilted.
