Hey lovely lady!

Nope its not cold...couple of reasons I think...leather chairs etc have the smooth side out to sit on and they've been absorbing in the ambient temp before we sit on them.

Leather kilts have the smooth side out and the fuzzy side in - which seems to be part of the appeal to me...the "appeal of the feel" if you will. "Butter soft" is the best description for that feeling against the skin. Much like a well broken in baseball mitt feels during the game on a warm day.

And, of course, heat rises...so my own body heat warms the fuzzy side of the leather under the kilt and keeps it comfy.

I've worn my leather kilts in cold (8 degrees F the lowest), and foul weather - blowing sleat and hail. Kept me toasty.

What's weird is on the opposite side, they're not hot in the summer heat either...the summer heat seems to soften them, again like a well broken in baseball mitt, and I can easily understand why mountain men wore leather like the Native peoples they met.

My first leather kilt was a UK. I ordered black. Somewhere in the on line ordering process a radio button slipped and I wound up with a brown leather kilt. At first I was indignant...I was pretty new to kilts and their not acknowledging my order just seemed like one of those things. But while I had the "wrong color" leather kilt around as we tried to work things out I somehow figured it was prettier than the black anyway. A decision that has endured.

Now it coulda been that special addictive smell of leather....

When I first approached RKilts for information on their leather kilt Robert sent me about two pounds of leather swatches in various colors...once again I was overcome by that special addictive smell of leather.

I've been fool enough to ask for two more leather swatches since...but so far only bought one new leather kilt from those two swatches....

Does wearing a five pound leather kilt around all day qualify as "exercise?" Kind of like folks power walking with weights right? Its easy exercise since I don't notice the weight...but exercise none the less....if I wore my leather kilts more I might someday be rid of this lingering beer belly...

Think I'm narrowing this down to wisdom, addiction, and delusion. Drop fetish and dementia....

I am still stumbling over "the inside of the cow".....(Grant, I won't forget that!).

Now the sueded side......I have a picture of you in my mind, Ron, walking around with a smile on your face from the "butter soft" feel of the leather on your skin.

As an addiction, I can think of worse ones than leather kilts. And leather does have a certain mystique! Grrrrrr...rowel!
