I'm up in the air trying to decide between the Buccleuch, Blackwatch and Scottish National for my next USAK casual. I'm considering getting in touch with Rocky to ask about getting some swatches sent my way.

Let me join the chorus. You could not go wrong with American Heritage, LEO Memorial, or Kelly's Firefighter Memorial is plumb gorgeous (if it isn't too red for you).

Then Isle of Skye, Caledonia ancient, Scottish National, or check out Holyrood Silver. They are non-clan; but Caledonia happens to be one of the older historic tartans, older than most known clan tartans in fact.

Many of these are available either in PV or wool, and USAK can fix you up handily in either case. If this is going to be your dressiest kilt, then go ahead for the wool Premier model if you can. If your Black Watch is wool, then you might opt for PV; you'll have to decide that eventually, but cruising the threads here will turn up many, many discussions where we've kicked that question around and around. Of course, we're generally happy to do it again.

Above all, enjoy the chase---that's part of the fun.
