Well, rather than being cremated I would prefer to be ground up, emulsified, then fed to mother Earth's microbes and wee beasties. I wouldn't mind a catapult being involved too, but... I won't be too picky.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I like your idea, Ted. I usually tell my parents and siblings that they should just drag me out into the woods and let nature handle the rest. Generally they are horrified, but I figure whatever makes me me is gone and I'd rather contribute to the "circle of life." The funny thing about it is that I am the only religious one in the family (well, I have a sister who recently started coming to my church occasionally, but I've only missed a small handful of Sundays in 30 years) yet I am the one least worried about traditional style disposal of my remains. By the time I go, however, I hope I have a kilt or two I can leave to one of my nephews. I'd hate to waste such a fine, heirloom quality garment.

Let's hope it's a long time before any of this matters for anyone here.

    Amen!

...and in truth it wouldn't surprise me if I got chucked into a ditch somewhere (at least I hope I'm kilted!)
