Kilted Burial?

I ran into a young woman who used to work for me in the store today. I commented on the lovely silver pendant she was wearing and she told me that some of her grandmother's ashes were in it. She was wearing a compass rose on the chain as well and she explained that it was so Judy could keep her pointed in the right direction.

Perhaps not exactly on point for this discussion, but it impressed me as a lovely way to remember someone you love. The girl, her mother and her grandmother have all been friends of mine and I was pleased to see this.

I used to make ceramic urns for people's cremated pets; they were sculptures of the pet. Another artist did the glazing.

Never made one for a person, though.
