    What keeps the toppers in position? I have seen one pic on line of one falling down, but I assume they do not always do that since people keep wearing them.

    On most people, the tension of the knit cuff itself is enough to keep it in place (unless you are sword-fighting or -dancing, I suppose!). "Spindleshanks" might need either a smaller than usual size, or a round of light elastic built into the cuff. I have also made larger than usual cuffs with elastic inside to allay any fear of sagging.

    Once the cuffs have been worn and stretched a bit, they can be restored to original size by gently pulling top and bottom, all the way around the circumference. I include instructions on this, as well as washing info, with every pair sent.

    So... If I had one kilt (for the sake of argument, let's say in Douglas Modern), I could purchase a black or gray pairs of hose, and get different hose toppers to compliment my shirts?
