I arrived home from work yesterday to find a package from Argyll on the kitchen counter -- the new Mackie bonnet had arrived!

I wasn't able to take any photos until this morning, as our wee bairns kept daddy busy last night. So here are 3 photos for now. I went with the ever-popular fawn with fawn and lovat green dicing. A friend of mine in St. Louis (who has since Went West) had a bonnet like this, and I always admired it.

Pay no attention to my ugly mug in this next picture. It's the bonnet you should be looking at!

And before anyone says anything, this is the duty uniform of the 1st Hawaiian Highland Fusiliers.

Overall, I am very impressed with the craftsmanship of a Mackie bonnet. It's just a wee bit big (partially due to my peeled scalp), so I'll have to do a bit of work with some cold water to shape it, but it is everything I expected.

And I can't say enough for Redshank's customer service. Once again, Chris has delivered a quality product at a reasonable price and in a reasonable time. The fact that the bonnet came from where one of my great-great-grandparents did (Argyll) makes it even better!

You can't go wrong with a Mackie or Dunadd Trading Company!

Yours aye,

T.
