Very inventive! Thanks for the pics. Where did you get the tartan?

Same here, Terry. I rather like it! It's always nice to see a state tartan being worn.

Unfortunately the simple answer will not do you any good. I took a trip into Seattle years ago to the Hector Russell affilliate. But alas, they have disappeared and I find no new address. They must have succumbed to the mail order establishments.
Two years ago, I asked around at the Highland Games in Enumclaw, Washington. All the venders hastily backed away from the issue. Aparently it is made from "unoptainium".
I feel lucky to have procurred what I sumize was the last of someone elses order. As with so many setts outside the major clans, it seems we must band together and make a large order before the mills will make up some more.

Fraser and Kirkbright has woven the Washington State Tartan in the past. You might contact them, with your fingers crossed.....that they have some in stock now.
If not, then their minimum order is ***mumble***** yards. Steve Ashton will know.

If people do want to put in for a mass order to split, let me know how much per yard and I'll beg the wife for enough for two.

Only 30 yards, eh? ;) Well, if you have two large or three average-sized friends who want the same kilt (assuming single width. Double you need five large or seven average-sized friends) then that works just fine. Otherwise, you could make an entire wardrobe from that much tartan.
Perhaps a tartan cover for one's pith helmet? ith: Or a tartan band for one's panama hat? Or several dozen sets of flashes?

Reason: I forgot how to count!
