No whisky
I am a poor excuse for a Scotsman. I don't like whisky - in fact, I don't drink alcohol at all. My wife and I visited a Distillery and ended up going round on a tour with a group of visiting Americans. Can I say, I was stunned by their knowledge, I was a bitty ashamed in case they asked me anything about whisky. I know NOTHING about it at all.
When it came to the tasting, I took one, and (I hope) when no one was looking, slipped it to my wife (an American) she knows a good whisky when she tastes one - or so she tells me....However, where she does fall down, is with our other National drink, she doesn't like Irn Bru - Disgraceful.......

Oh my GOD!!! My wife buys me a case of Irn Bru each year for my birthday and I will tell you it doesn't make it to the following year.

On the plus side, I just picked up a bottle of Cardhu 12-year-old (Speyside single malt), which hasn't been available in the States for some years, but is back on our shelves.
Yum...!

Speyside perfection. And when the last drop is drained, Brian, stick a speed spout in it and move it to your kitchen where its shape makes it a perfect dispenser for the finest of oils and other pourable liquids.

ASDA's take on a single malt isn't something I'd ever seek out.

Your lucky Woodsheal, here in Australia, it has been off the shelves for what seems to be an eternity. It was (and still is, if I can find old stock) my all time favourite. She that must be obeyed also likes the taste and finished the last bottle I had. She does not like any other brands I have though, which is good for me. Just wish Johnny walker would see the sense and start bringing it back into Australia.

I estimate that between the ages of 5 and 15, I drank at least one bottle of Irn Bru a day. On a visit in 2005, tried one for the nostalgia, and found it disgusting. Not sure what this has to do with anything, but I feel so much better for saying it out loud, as it were.
