As most of you will know the Ryder cup here in Wales has suffered a bit due to the bad bout of severe rain we have had in the last week. However today its beautiful with clear blue skies and the golf is well underway. Yesterday we went up to waterfall country for a trek which proved very hazardous in several places due to the weather and water. The Brecon Beacons are absolutely saturated and water is pouring out of places I have never seen water before. Here some pics. The Cilt/Kilt I got on putting these pics up I wore yesterday. It got very wet but it dried out fine over the last18hrs and ready to roc n roll again. Here a few pic of the adventure The cave entrance of Porth Yr Ogof. Couldnt get anywhere near it ][/url]

As the day went on the weather greatly improved and we eventually got to a bothy we knew. Thats it Iechyd Da Derek
Looks like a great day for GoreTex! Boy.... on small slip and you'd never have an opportunity to touch shore again -- in the "dry season" is that cave in the first photo available? I've never seen a cave like that with water flowing unless it was "Karst" (sp?) topography... thanks for sharing.
smashin' pics Derek. Very impressive. I love rivers in full flow. You'll have to show us where that is next time we're down your neck of the woods. Have they lifted the hose-pipe ban yet then?
You have such great adventures Derek. Thanks for sharing them all.
I'm with John, I love rushing rivers like that. (As long as people and houses are not in them) Thanks for those.

Super pics Derek.

Great pictures Derek, thanks for taking us along on the hike. The rivers look like some of ours did a month and a half ago. Our state, in fact most of the country, has had its biggest winter rainfall for almost 10 years
Great pics, love rivers that run full and fast, makes me want to put in and blast through some whitewater!! The waterfall looks too much for me to run, even though I have done some in the past.
