Actually I had already counted and found that it is about a yard wide, a curious width by today's standard. That would make it 3-4 yards long which is really too long to be a stole, which was my first thought, but maybe a sash of some kind or even table cloth.
The warp doesn't match the weft well so it might not even be tartan properly.
The colours are curious too which makes me think it has faded. Perhaps the green was darker, the pale blue too, and the dark blue we see might even have been black. The red is still pretty vibrant though so I don't know about that.
Some worn areas might be moth chews so, wool?

33.5" to be precise.

Oh but it does but there are some features that complicate things.

Yes, faded in places, only one blue/green, black not dark blue.

Probably.
