My latest knitting attempt
I hope you'll forgive this being slightly OT. Pics of my latest attempt at knitting. These were knitted cuff up, one at a time to see how they put together, hence the difference in length. ( who forgot to count rows the second time? )

I'm hoping to do the next pair top down starting at the fingertips using the figure of 8 cast on that works so well with hose.

Those are pretty gloves, and I'd bet they're nice and warm, too.

Do you have 4 sets of DPNs, and can you keep track of which finger is which until you join them together?
Have you ever made a pair about three sizes too big and then felted them? I have, and they're my favorite gloves.

When given a choice, most people will choose.

Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.

I don't use dpns ( I kept dropping stitches when first Itried using them ) but use KnitPro interchangeable circular needles so I'll either knit them on seperate wires and join them as and when or try to be really clever and try to work what order to cast them on in(but only if I can get my mathmatical head to work).

Ooooh, felted, now there's an idea! Sounds wonderful, must give that a try!

Right you are. I'm afraid that the photo isn't the best, black's not the easiest colour to photograph. These are in pure wool aran thickness. The pattern on the leg is a simple trellis repeat of 6 which, with the benefit of hindsight I'd double to 12. The rib at the back of the heel is reinforced with pure silk in the hope that the heels will last longer. The pattern of the turn over is the Tyrol Leaf pattern ferom Gainsford, very satisfying to do!
