Thanks for the link woodsheal! was a great help. Iwas looking at their 1770 wool waistcoats. I know its the wrong era but could you use a rev war style waistcoat in a jacobite outfit (1745)

I know Woodsheal told me alot people wear the 1770's waistcoats under coats,
I have seen some guys who wear Frock Coat's they are alittle long for me.

You could have them shorten up, If I remember right and woodsheal could tell you alot more the Frock Coat 1750's Pattern could be made a Highland Jacket.

You could also go just with the shirt and great kilt,as seen on page one of this thread.

The 1770s waistcoat is technically the wrong era, but IS the right length for 1745 Highland garb -so lots of guys use them for that purpose. I do, too, because the differences in cut between the two periods are slight.

As for the 1740s highland coat, it is merely a shortened version of the same pattern worn by other European men. Coats had changed quite a bit by the 1770s, however....
