From over in my Scottish Ghost Stories thread:

As far as I know, which really isn't far at all, the Duntrune piper is only heard and not seen, at least i have never heard of him being seen.

The ghost has been depicted in a kilt, though -- in the documentary "Castle Ghosts of Scotland", which was produced by Prince Edward.
