Kilted at work in my Black Stuart. Everyone asked if it was St. Patrick's Day again, that was kind of a first for me.

I went into work (a research lab of the CDC) wearing my Stephenson Modern kilt and tweed argyle jacket/waistcoat, tie, day sporan, etc. It was my first time kilted in the office. However, folks on my research team were expecting it. I did surprise plenty of other folks in our building, though. My wife, who works there too, wore a matching kilted skirt and sash. We had a number of people ask to take our pictures. Amazingly, not one person asked me "the question". However, I had three people ask where my "little knife" was. As this was a government facility, I chose not to wear a sgian dubh. It was a wonderful experience and I hope next year I won't be the only one in a kilt!

I wore my Canadian Maple Leaf Tartan kilt to work (something I don't normally do). Some people I share office space with already knew about Tartan Day, and it was a chance to let everyone else in on the day. My mailman avoided looking at me when he delivered the mail, though.

I the past events have ranged from "lets get together at the pub" to nice public presentations at City Hall or the San Jacinto monument. The only deal I've seen fot this year is a evening reception on the 6th at the Odd Fellows hall, which I'll try to make, depending on my work schedule.

There has also been talk of a get together this Saturday at the Sherwood Forest renfaire, which I will try to attend.
