Well . . . I made a decision, and I don't imagine I'll regret it, but I'll find out in time.

First of all, thank you to all who made wonderful suggestions, discussed concerns, and shared links. I knew that was the kind of response I would get and that's why I posted this.

Steve - thank you so much for your inexpensive option - it looks simple and marvellous. Drawback: Two hangers in a closet that's already overcrowded with my liturgical robes etc in the house. Add a third for my jacket, and it's using a large amount of the hanger rod.

Interesting fact about my aging body: My dimensions are cone shaped. I take off my kilt belt, suck in my stomach, and the kilt falls on the floor. To put it on, I just reverse the process. That means that I haven't actually undone the kilt straps since I first adjusted them.

For that reason, the link Zardoz provided intrigued me since I imagine that I can mount the kilt, still strapped shut onto the hanger using only one hanger hook. Thank you Zardoz for that! I don't travel with them much, so Seanachie while I VERY much appreciate your sharing your reservations with me, it's only to hang in my own closet (and use up as little space as possible). If it turns out that I'm wrong, I'll let the rabble know for sure.

A couple of folks suggested the Order of the Gael, and I had a very close look at that. I've had problems in the past with wooden one-clamp hangers with my tr@users so I'm a little leary of that design. What finally pushed me back to Zardoz's original suggestion was Riverkilt's suggestion to just hang my tank over a hotel chair on the few times that I forsee travelling with it, thus solving Seanachie's reservations.

To all those who weighed in, thank you so very much. I respect your opinions and very much appreciate your taking the time to help me out. That's what makes the rabble and this bulletin board so wonderful

Thank you!!!!
