We are discussing it here because it's about a unbifurcated garment.
There was a time in the not so distant past (and I am sure you can remember), that any mention of an unbifurcated garment that wasn't a kilt would cause the thread to be closed or the post to be removed.
From the FAQs:
"MUG" - A Male Unbifurcated Garment. This term was coined buy the Utilikilt Company, of Seattle to describe their specific product. A male, skirt like garment, with little or no connection to the Tradition of the Scottish Kilt.
The title and header, I think sums it up:
