    Cthulhu Box pleat

Thinking of getting a Black 6yd Box Pleat with Cthulhu Tartan inserts. How much Tartan would I need?
I like a nice short parade that ends at a bar.

It will depend on how many box pleats you will have, and whether you want the same portion of the new tartan in each reveal,so if you have 12 box pleats you would need 13 portions of tartan, at least and if the sett is say 7 " you would need (13x 7 ) 91" of single or about 45" of double but that would be a minimum, I would allow a but extra just in case!

This may sound overly simple, but if you are wanting a "6yd box pleated kilt" as you describe, then you'll need 6 yds of single width cloth (or 3 yds double).

He means for it to be black, with tartan only in the pleats, if I'm reading it correctly.

Jaeson is actually wanting a 6 yd box pleated kilt with "inserts" of the tartan, not a complete kilt!

No idea, but the concept does fit with the nature of the tartan itself as being both alien and inimical to the natural order of our universe.

The way I did it on my x-kilt was to make the outer portion of the pleat, and the arm going to the back piece, and have a seam with the back part at what would be the interior folds in the pleat. I can try putting up pictures after I am home, if you would like.
