Wonderful shots - a lot to take in in a day especially when you are limited by public transport timings!

I once walked from Bristol to Glastonbury, I still remember the blisters!

In the one photo there was what looked like a church spire planted in the center. Do you recall what it's significance is?

I would have expected Glastonbury would have been much busier during the music festival.

Alex ... All the shops and pubs we visited said it is usually very quiet during the festival. People tend to stay on the festival site because all facilities are there.We thought there would be loads more people too.

Derek - it was when I was a Churchwarden in Bristol and members of my parish joined in the annual pilgrimage to Glastonbury Abbey. We set off on the Friday evening, stayed in a parish hall somewhere, en route, and arrived at Glastonbury in time for a procession through the town and an open air mass communion service celebrated by the Archbishop of Canterbury on the Saturday.

I only walked it the once - after that it was car or coach!

Alex - the Festival site is some 6 miles east of the town so it's not that surprising that the town itself could be relatively quiet. It is probably busier with the pilgrims whose "venue" is right in the town itself than it is with the Festival goers.
