A Day Adventure in Pics

It was an early start. 6.10am and the pack was filled.

7am and we were having tea and coffee in one of the wetherspoons down town.

The place was empty as you can see

Then we hit the station and got ourselves sorted

And away we were

Less than an hour later were in another bus station café having cuppa waiting for a bus to take us to our destination

It wasn't a long journey, and here we are. We decided to come to Glastonbury.
The music festival was on and there is always a great vibe in the town during the fest. Also the town doesn't come alive till lunchtime onwards. It’s a really quaint place with loads of ‘magical’ ‘avalon’ type shops.

In need of some substance by now, we took a rest. We had the place to ourselves.

Then we went to a fab butchers. Bought some sausages and some cartons of their home made curry sauces. We had a hot meat madras and a Jalfrezi.

We took a look around the little courtyards off the main street.

We found this incredible candle/aromatherapy shop.

This is the tourist board office

Really quaint inside too with some local characters

Then back to the streets. It was getting late morning and it was still quite.

The wife spotted a farmers market so took off there while I guarded the shopping bags and chilled out here. It was still early in Glastonbury time. Had the place to myself apart from the landlord.

Soon after the wife rejoined me, the pub dog arrived back from his run in the fields nearby.

He was so tired after his excursion he had a little nap under the dartboard.

What fun! I've always loved that little off-street covey of shops. Friends used to run one.

Congrats on making the music fest. I keep hoping, but timing hasn't been right.......time but not money, money no time, neither time nor money. Maybe next year.

Wonderful shots - a lot to take in in a day especially when you are limited by public transport timings!

I once walked from Bristol to Glastonbury, I still remember the blisters!

Trefor ... wow. It would certainly be a trek on foot. Well done. Did you walk it for any particular reason or just spur of moment stuff.
