    In a quote from Artificer,
"I assume the powers that be (Steve, one-man-committee) would get a sample made to assure of the proper colour."

I'm sorry, but I have not yet found any company that will produce a finished tie as a sample to review for color.
The average minimum order is 25-50 ties. I'm afraid this is an all or nothing sort of deal.
Companies will provide artwork and thread samples for review but most require you to specify color by Pantone number to avoid problems with color matching.

This is sort of like getting a special weave of Tartan, You can ask for yarn color samples but setting up the loom is where the labor is and is only done once for each run.

    Sorry for the mis-type,
I did mean a sample card (yarn) not a full sample tie.

They're good people, they also do neckties, scarves and cummerbunds. Outside of the ties I sew for myself, they ARE my tie supplier.

Guys, if what you want is a simple wide stripe in blue and gold, without spending a mint...

    http://www.bows-n-ties.com/classic-s...w-p-15291.html

    want a smaller stripe?

    or really thin gold stripes...

Eighteen to twenty five dollars. Pick one.

Hi Guys, I have previously used these guys to produce a Regimental tie for a reunion. Excellent service provided. They sent proofs out so you could see examples.

    Question

I just ran across this thread, and was just curious if anything further has developed in the progress towards an XMTS "regimental/club" tie?
