The only one I have seen here in the US was outside a place that specialised in foreign car parts and had flags of all the countries that they did car parts for. They took it very seriously when I pointed it out. I think they worried that they had seriously offended me.

I think people here take flags quite seriously and when they do things wrong it is only a case of lack of knowledge not disrespect.

I found a website selling British special forces equipment and they had the union flag upside down. I emailed them pointing it out. They didn't answer but the next day the flag was the right way up.

We have just celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament and Welsh Assembly.

Many English people now wonder why there isn't an English Parliament too.

Scottish MPs and Welsh MPs at Westminster can vote on matters that affect England whereas because those matters are devolved in Scotland and Wales, English MPs cannot do the same.

An interesting kettle of fish besides those regarding the flag!

I think most English people were quite happy with the way things were before devolution, and when devolution happened for the Welsh and the Scots we felt no change in England so didn't really mind.

I think the only way the English will get their own parliament is if the union breaks up and I hope that doesn't happen.

It certainly is an interesting kettle of fish though.
