Obviously, we don't call it "Canadian" bacon up here! Canadian bacon is the term Americans and other non-Canadians use to refer to back bacon as opposed to "streaky" bacon.

On my last trip (granted over 25 years ago) I saw no real difference between good quality US bacon and that served in Scotland. I guess that's the source of my confusion. Sure some cheap bacon is nothing but fat, but not all. I like Canadian bacon, but I also like good Virginian bacon, and Brazilian bacon, and - well you get the idea.
So - so far the stuff would include:
Eggs, Black Pudding, bacon, banger, mushrooms, tomato, fried kippers.
Coffee? Tea? Milk? Porrage?

Ferintosh style is what I remember my Granny serving up, but two eggs, and minus the baked beans & mushrooms though. Porridge& hot milk of course started off the meal.
(I used to slip the black pudding to mum, like eating a big scab; Eeeeew!) :food-smiley-002:

I'd be doin' the exact same thing, Ozman! OR, if mum wouldn't eat it, I'd be quietly calling out, "Here doggy, doggy!"
My dear grandma used to say, "I'll give you a nickel if you try this...I'll give you a quarter if you try that"...she was an adventurous eater...far more so than I!!

It's likely that most Scottish breakfasts usually consisted of porridge or oatmeal.
