I certainly hope that this thread hasn't misrepresented to anyone the quality of product and service that is the norm from Stillwater. Perhaps you should have just emailed Jerry and waited for his reply before posting something as damaging as "Stillwater Kilts disappointment" in the forums.
Good luck to you. I hope that the situation resolves itself in a way that is fair to both parties involved.

There's no reason not to post this situation. Anyone who's been on XMTS for more than 5 minutes knows that Jerry is a solid vendor. We also know that anyone can make mistakes. Most likely, this was a case of the manufacturer mislabeling the product than it was Jerry's mistake. But, regardless, the outcome was one of disappointment for the OP. Nothing damaging about this post. If anything, this post will reinforce other's people's opinions of SWK because of the way all the responders have come to Jerry's defense. I know that I happened to place an order with Jerry just two days ago, and I knew about this post.

I hear what you're saying 12 Stones. I guess I would have given SWK an opportunity to resolve the situation before I posted this thread. Perhaps that's just me, though.

I don't think so, at least I don't, as I mentioned in my original post.
The rest of the order was fine.

I did, as I also mentioned in an earlier follow-up.
Do rest assured that the first thing I did was send an email to Jerry about it
And damaging? I don't think so, as I have seen both good experiences and bad experiences being posted here. Thus below. Besides, since i am the customer and this experience was not as good as my first one, to call it a 'disappointment' is accurate.
I just wanted to share my experience as I have read some good ones (including myself with my first SWK kilt) and some bad ones.
Good luck to you. I hope that the situation resolves itself in a way that is fair to both parties involved.
Thank you, I'm sure things will be resolved to my satisfaction, after all I'm the one who shelled out the wee amount. Things are currently in motion as it is.

That's exactly the case, and exactly as portrayed to Jerry himself via email. Different labeler between batches, different measure stick, who knows.
But, regardless, the outcome was one of disappointment for the OP. Nothing damaging about this post.
That's correct.
i'm positive things will work out fine, I am expecting a new one tomorrow, magic swallows do not take weekend off!

I had an experience several years ago in purchasing slacks (Oh, the humanity!!) in which I tried some different sizes to see what fit me best. After finding the size I purchased three or four of various colors of the same style. I selected from the size labels of what fit me. Later as I wore them one pair fit much larger than the others. I check the tags and the tag read the same size as the others. I took the slacks in question and held them up to on of the others that I had purchased. Sure enough is one pair was larger. Somewhere, somehow it go the wrong tags stitched to it.
We live in a world that makes mistakes and I have a high rank in that. It is how we handle resolving the mistake. I trust Jerry will take care of you. I have three kilts and they are all from Jerry and I am very pleased with the product, service, and shipped (duck or you will get hit with a high speed box containing a kilt).

I'm glad to hear it was just a labeling error. At first I thought there could be a calibration problem with the transporter!

Well, as I expected it, Jerry is willing to take the original kilt back based on the measured dimensions.
I've also received the new one I ordered immediately after, in a smaller size (44), and this one fits like a glove, even though technically it is 2 sizes smaller than my measured waist/hip combo (48" tube).
So all in all I am, not surprisingly, very satisfied with the outcome.
And if that was not all, I think I have an interested person willing to buy the original 48 anyway.
So, in short, good show for SWK and this forum is easily the best find in months of scouring for Scottish/Kilt related info.
