Me too. I really need some place to carry my stuff. I don't know what I would do if I had a traditional kilt with pockets.

With the traditional kilt I always wear a sporran-----I know nothing about modern kilts-------.

Well I am a person who is just learning about kilts at this point. I do not have one as of yet. So I remember not so long ago when I knew nothing about kilting and I will say I have little to no idea what a sporran, so it didn't really matter if someone kilted was wearing one or not.

I'd say that only the sticklers for "correct" costume would be outraged to see a kilt sans sporran, whereas the general public could not care less.
I don't wear costume, anyway.

Ditto...
If I'm wearing my Utilikilts then a sporran isn't needed, nor does it add to the "look". But personally I think a traditional kilt looks "empty" without a sporran.

I have to go with the "where else you gonna put your stuff school" on this one. Even with pockets, I can't see carrying all my stuff in them.
