Nice as usual from your side; photos and garment.
By the way. Hope the forst ranger will not get you while chopping the tree.
I like the breeze between my knees

Ah, the annual tree trip. Nice pics. Unlike your trip mine involves a trip to the local tree lot and all the accumulated marital wisdom which involves determination, stamina, the art of evasion and compromise before I surrender to the inevitable.

"No, no WAIT....Robert PLEASE...wait....put down the axe a minute....look, I'm just one tree, there are soooo many others more beautiful than me....why me? Look, over there, much prettier. Is this the thanks I get for giving you oxygen to breathe...for sheltering wildlife? Why are you doing such a cruel thing??? Haven't you read about plants having feelings? You're so sharply kilted you must be a wise man. Why drag me across the forest when you could get a lovely replica tree at any big box store? Give me a break here Robert...I'm BEGGING you...."

Yes, seriously I get the point.
The situation here is that our evergreen mountain forests suffer from suffocation. The trees grow too close to one another and they don't get enough light, enough air and they saturate the grounds so that no "leaf trees" can grow any more.
In the Alps, evergreens are becoming a problem. If we dont want the government to take drastic measures against them, it's rather cool that a few individuals like myself help the forest to be a better place for other plants, shrubs and trees, in a very simple way.
BTW, I talk to the trees I cut down weeks before they are sacrificed.
Best,
Robert

Interesting idea of selecting a tree when it's still in the ground!
Lovely tartan and I like the jacket too!

<Tree Voice> " Okay Robert, okay....so ya gotta thin us out...but please...not me eh???.....look at that beauty over there...he'd look much better in your living room than scruffy olde me. Can't you just see the presents glitter under his massive limbs?? Me, you're gonna have them uneven holes in my branches that look so bad....take him...take the best...why settle for scruffy me....ask him, he'll go proudly....I know the guy...he's always wanted to be a Christmas tree some day...."

Hey Robert,
I'm guessing that battlejacket is authentic?
Mine's a replica from What Price Glory
