Hello, Joe, and welcome to the forum from another Hoostonian. Yes, I'll be at the St. Andrews thing this evening at St. Arnold's. I'll look for the guy in the great kilt.

Also, be mindful of the 'Kilt Nights' forum as occasionally we in Houston, like others, have kilted get-togethers. Also, some of us are going to the TX Ren Fest this weekend for the Highland Fling weekend.

I've been keeping an eye on it. I wanted to go to the one at the Tilted Kilt, but hadn't seen it until too late.

I've sorta soured on TRF. After going to SCA events all year, going to TRF is like going to a mall. Plus there's a little angst there... After decades of inviting SCA out to fight on Battle Mound every year they realized they could make more money renting it out as a wedding chapel, so the society was uninvited. This happened before I started playing, but that's the story as I hear it from folks who were around then.
