I think that is nicely stated and makes sense. Thanks!

Ayin,
Also remember in a martini
It is either 1 olive or 2 cocktail onions!

I've given up trying to understand that; though I do think the PC is very good looking, and have nothing against it.
Sadly, my gut feeling says that other kinds of black jackets with a kilt would feel more at home when alone in a room packed with tuxedos.. I try to ignore that gut feeling.
Actually, a Prince Charlie jacket is basically the Highland Dress equivalent of a tuxedo jacket.

Now my thought was that an Argyle with the metal buttons was the equivalent of a tuxedo (dinner) jacket, while a Prince Charlie was the equivalent of a tailcoat. Either could be worn for black tie, but only the Prince Charlie (or a doublet) for white tie.
Three button waistcoat and bowtie for black or white tie (in the appropriate color of course), five button with a regular 'four-in-hand' tie.

I used to think that at first, but I was wrong. It is a bit confusing because you can dress down one step in formality and still be acceptable.
I was only saying that a Prince Charlie, and I'm going by the description of the components, does not look like a tuxedo with the tails chopped off and the satin buttons replaced with silver buttons in the same number and place. I can't look at the pictures, so I may be completely wrong.
I know now that the PC is worn when a tuxedo would be worn, so I'm not argueing about that; just that anything worn with a tux would not necessarily work with a PC.

An Argyle jacket is equivalent to Morning Dress, but can.. with a black bow tie, sub for Evening Dress. Or so this is what I have been led to believe. how this helps.

LOL. Does that math continue as you add olives? If you normally put 3 Olives in your martini, should you use 6 Cocktail onions instead if you're out of olives?

Then there's the Creole Scream debacle:
4 cl white rum
2 cl dry vermouth
1 dash Angostura® bitters
1 cl grenadine syrup
1 green olive or is it 2?
Lord Brett Sinclair vehemently disaproves of 2 olives whereas Danny Wylde suggest 2 so that they can "gently bounce up against each other", "Why bust up a pair?"
Jamie whom is correct?
