True, that's because a Prince Charlie is a tail coat with the tails lopped back. My source for that, MacMillan of Rathdown.
That is also why I prefer the black dress Argyle for the semi-formal or "tuxedo" black tie attire.
Like I said, I got those ideas from MacMillan of Rathdown, and I think his source was "Tartans and Highland Dress" by Charles R. MacKinnon of Dunakin, among others.
I am wondering about putting black velvet cuffs and pocket flaps on the jacket, the lapels are silk satin; I'm not sure if I will have enough jacket material for the cuffs.
