ETA: I just noticed that on page 2 of the article they said there will be a bankruptcy sale and all the fabric in stock will be sold off. I wonder just how much tartan they had in stock?
I already asked them if I could buy fabric at 'discount prices'... they informed me that they were NOT selling it out b/c they were re-doing their business model and keeping their stock range of tartans and would just be continuing to sell it.

It is a shame to see they're having issues though...
I am really looking forward to seeing over time how big of a difference in quality there is from mill to mill...

Batleys went into 'administration' (bankruptcy protection) a month or so ago and is now in the process of reworking their business model. They've been renamed (No longer "N Batley") and are still selling stock tartans. I spoke to them just 5 minutes ago about something I had recently received.
When a mill runs out of fabric, they typically put it on the list to be re-woven in a few months time.
Please note that some of the mills mentioned above weave MORE than just tartan... some weave solid wool or pinstripes or different solid materials (acrylic, PV, wool blends, etc)

Islay mills missed the small mills list too---they did the tartan for the Braveheart movie.
