Unfortunately, I don't think tweed has to be specifically Scottish. Harris Tweed is protected but I think the word tweed is just a type of cloth.
From dictionary.com
Tweed
1. a coarse wool cloth in a variety of weaves and colors, either hand-spun and handwoven in Scotland or reproduced, often by machine, elsewhere.
the American heritage Dictionary doesn't even mention Scotland
1. A coarse, rugged, often nubby woolen fabric made in any of various twill weaves and used chiefly for casual suits and coats.

One critique: Their ”Black Watch tartan vest”, …“The Campbell clan's ‘ancient’ tartan...” appears to have red and yellow and white/grey lines in it.
That's not right is it?
They also offer a shirt in Moore plaid but its not the Moore tartan pattern that

problem with "non scottish companies" doing tartans is that they often get them wrong.
They probably didn't do the IOS tartan b/c it's privately owned and they didn't want to pay a royalty to use it.
The do get an "A for Effort" however for using Scottish models ON SKYE. That's a "stand up company" that at least they're supporting the culture they're manking money from...

Rocky, that's a really good point, and if they did get some of the details wrong maybe we can overlook it. The show Skye and Scotland in a very good light.
Maybe someone should show this to the Gold Brothers.
