I'll probably wear my Kerr Modern kilt which is a red and green tartan, Lovat green hose with red flashes, a red dress shirt with a black tie and a black waistcoat just to off set everything.

Aye Ryan wore the outfit - including beads - for Mardis Gras....just wasn't AT a Mardi Gras function...honoring the party...

I have the Robertson Hunting Ancient that has a goodly amount of green in it and lends itself to the festive atmosphere of the season.
I also have this absolutely superb Christmas necktie that's black with a small holly pattern in green and red on it...I might actually wear the dreaded BLACK SHIRT with the black vest, the kilt and tie...
As a matter of fact, I'm probably going out in search of a coupla' pints amongst the un-kilted barbarians this evening. Might dress festively for that sortie.

Ryan Ross, your outfit looks fine, Christmas festivities or no.
I personally do not over-do for things like that. Unless there is family or children. I do have a bowtie with flashing lights and a red, blinking nose that my neices loved, but that's not for going out.
I may add a splash of color in a pocket silk or tie. And I, too, have a red sweater vest I wore last night with a tweed jacket, but I wear it at other times, too.
But now, full mask rabbit sporran and antlers--we may be on to something.

I have a Christmas party to attend next Saturday evening. I intend to wear one of my kilts that features red and green in the tartan. What comes immediately to mind are my MacGregor, MacIntyre, or Cameron of Erracht kilts. If it's cold enough, my 19-oz CoE will be forefront among the choices.

The only kilt I have is the Cameron modern-lots of red and green with some yellow. I wore it last year to a church supper and a lady came up to me and said "How wonderful-a Christmas tartan!"

My royal Stewart that I got from ebay from a kilt hire sale has seen almost daily wear to great reception.

When going out and about at Christmas I have, for several years, abandoned kilts and put on my dark green robe and red cloak with the liripipe hood.
It is of course completely over the top - but when the everyone seem to be flagging - after starting Christmas on the 1st December, and the shop assistants can't be bothered with their Santa hats - just one little tot wide eyed with astonishment is worth it.
