Here in South Carolina we have fried green tomatoes, fried dill pickles, fried shrimp, fried oysters, and fried gator tail, but the sign of fried butter was more than I can even imagine.....

Maybe it's another one of those Scotland/Southern US connexions, but it seems that Scotland and Texas lead the way with deep-fried food.
In Scotland there's something called "pizza supper".

oooh good heavens.....only in America would we have deep fried butter to go with your chicken fried bacon and deep fried cheesecake....My arteries clogged just reading those signs 
please tell me those numbers off to the right of the food name wasnt the dollar price! $11 for butter? Is it in bulk? I know state food is crazy expensive but....really?
did they have deep fried cheese curds? <---- Wisconsin classic right there. Ain't nothing better than deep fried cheese curds.

I grow okra, and yes, sometimes I do use that pronunciation, and yes, I grew up next to Texas, and yes, people in Texas sometimes say "o-kree," and words ending in "a" end up with "ee," and yes, I know okra originated in Africa.
I like pickled okra, too.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
