It's never happened, as I said I'm very happy with the jabot the cuffs and the service I received from Lady Chrystel.

Just curious, McMurdo, does the underflap(?) of your Montrose follow the same line as the overflap and does it also button?
The reason I ask is, I was watching the HBO John Adams series on DVD over the weekend, and in a couple of scenes Thomas Jefferson was wearing a double-breasted tail-coat that was cut straight across the front with 4 buttons buttoned and very wide lapels. It had a separate high fold-over collar. Anyway it struck me as very similar to a Montrose half unbuttoned and folded into lapels from the front.

Yes, exactly. I was thinking I might get McMurdo to give it a try, but your apparently endless supply of highland formalwear pictures has provided a ready example. I happen to think it looks good.
I appreciate the look of the jabot and cuffs, but I am afraid there is no way I could eat dinner of any sort wearing them.

No the underflap of my Montrose does not button, it just has a small clasp to keep it in place.
