To my poor old eyes and on my monitor, the stripe looks red, thus the recommendation for red. I'd like to see purple hose, too!

Splendid...
It's the look that I aspire for...I'd like a regulation doublet someday...but the Argyll Jacket is MUCH more versatile...so that will be the first purchase. I think I'd recommend green or red hose...my preference would be Argyll (#1) or Diced (#2)...but you already shared your thoughts and reasoning...and I respect that.
All that being said...you could definitely go dressed as is and you'd be one of the best dressed men in the room hands down. Well done!!

My apoloiges, gentlemen. We don’t get to see skunks around here. Polecats, yes, skunks no.

No worries, Mike. One of the things I really like about skunk is that it is a N. American native. Besides, once you have your Caracal sporran made you'll have a stumper for nearly EVERYONE.

Scott, I especially like the way the badger sporran matches the black and white of your shirt, tie and jacket.
The navy socks are fine, and I see no reason why black socks would not be acceptable either.
Some of us are peacocks, it seems – other colours would not be wrong, but your choices are fine.

Mike
