That interesting, as on Sunday I saw at least three species of thistle happily growing all over the place on San Bruno mountain. Of course, the mountain is peppered with non-native species. However, there are certainly native California thistles.

Apr. 14th. Two miles south of the house is the flood plain of the Yellow Leaf Creek. I was on my way to replace sky lights (roofing job) and found these three treasures along the road side.
Sow thistle Marsh thistle and a Bull thistle
Our wild and wacky weather gave us early blooms.

The correct doses (matched to the individual) will treat and counteract the effects of liver abuse. Great for the heavy alcohol consumer and troubling blood sugar conversion. Please consult your local herbalist if serious about its use.
Sounds like a fine herbal remedy for a Scotsman eh?
