Given Bond's Scottish heritage, I'm a little surprised that the film makers never registered a Bond tartan. Heck, even Scrooge McDuck has his own tartan registered with the Tartans Authority!
The Tartans Authority website keeps timing out when I enter "Bond" in the surname field, which seems to indicate to me that there isn't one.
I used to dislike Lazenby as Bond simply because he wasn't Connery, but having seen OHMSS many times over the years, I've come to appreciate his take on the character. I always get a little verklempt when Mrs. Bond takes a bullet at the end.

Aren't there a number of photos of Sir Connery wearing the MacLean Hunting tartan kilt? Not in the movies, but out and about.

So, guessing Ham was the consultant on the film teaching the two hand sweep Bond uses when he sits down on the couch.
And...memories of Blazing Saddles, "Its twoo, its twoo."

I still argue that the "Bond" tartan should be the MacLean tartan, in honour of Sir Fitzroy Maclean, since Fleming based the Bond character on him.

Has a pic of Sir Sean in the MacLean Hunting.
No clue why the image dealie isn't working...just get a beep...or would post the pic.
Okay, managed the pic by editing and something came up about "scripted windows" that I've never seen before...must be a conflict between the new OE7 and site upgrades. Always changes.
Anyway, best reason for the MacLean is that he ALREADY wears it and it looks very cool.
