My girlfriend thought it was unique at first and then just grew to enjoy it more the more i was kilted around her. I (as others have said) don't think I'd even date someone if they didn't at least accept my kilt-wearing. My mother also supports it, thank goodness!... she kind of helped get it started actually (and got me to join this forum).

My wife likes me in kilt, and gives me that "sly smile" and "eyebrow raise", when I am kilted up.
My daughter... well... she's OK with it.

As per the original question - My wife likes seeing me in a kilt, but my girlfriend loves it. Luckily they are the same person.

Any advice for converting a wife to a kilt-lover?
Have her talk to me. I'd be happy to tell her how lucky she is!

My fiance loves me in a kilt. No easier way to end an argument exists other than wearing the kilt!

My GF likes me liking wearing my kilt. My daughter doesn't want her friends to know I wear one; my son doesn't mind, but doesn't want one for himself.

When I first starting wearing a kilt, my wife was barely concerned at all. We've been married for 18 years, but knew each other many years before that, and here's just FEW of the things she's had to put up with me:

    Rock Climbing
    Highland Games
Building an artist studio/pottery studio in a warehouse
Creating metal sculpture peices in the driveway
Making a coffin that had functional beer taps (at a friend's request--he was a helluva guy)
    Playing semi-pro football
"Brother weekends" of fishing, hiking, camping, hunting etc
    Year long speaking tours/Conference presentations
Teaching nephew how to correctly pee from a moving boat on river tour(Aim downwind)
    Military Unit reunions
Emergency room visits due to assorted competitive sports
Not moving the 5 books I leave about the house because I'm reading them--all of them.
    Gallery shows
Changing jobs because I got 'bored'.

That's just a glimpse of Mrs. Pete's dilema so...a kilt...not a big deal at all.

Matter of fact she REALLY enjoys it and has begun deciding which she likes and doesn't...also where I should wear which etc.

I hope I'm not the only man here who has had his partner grab his arm on a night out and whisper "I REALLY like the way you look in this kilt".

What I first put on a kilt about 15 years ago, wife liked it but didn't really understand it all, as I was wearing great kilts mainly, doing the Jacobite thing. As time passed, she began to understand the pride and heritage, and also would give that sly smile, raise the eyebrow and...well, I'll stop there! She is always supportive of me wearing the kilt.

My girlfriend likes my kilt. Oddly, she doesn't like it when I wear my hose and flashes. She thinks I look better when I am in my kilt, Converse low tops and a random band t-shirt.
