    X,

You're doing an AWESOME job on these. If I'd only known they would be this good when you originally sent the email asking for people to go in on a bolt. I'm going to look so different from C&N in my HoE Muted old and rare.

Oh well, it's a skill you'll always have, and I'm a brother you'll always have. I'm sure there will be opportunities in the future.

Can you make a pair of hose flashes for Breton? He's got a clanranald kilt for the wedding, but no flashes. Is Marlow wearing the whole Bonnie Prince Costly getup? If so, let me know so I can get a reasonable facsimile for Breton.

Fly plaid looks amazing. I will keep it under wraps and not tip off the bro.

Really looking forward to seeing you guys at the wedding. It's been far too long.

    Elliott

P.S. 36" 41.5" 22" If ever you get bored and have some cheap/free fabric on your hands.

I'll look different from them in my custom colours as well. We can tease them for looking too much alike. "Were your kilt's cut from the same bolt or something"?

Thanks for the kind words. I'm sure looking forward to seeing all you guys too.

    The Kiltmaker and His Son

I've been burning the midnight oil to get these last two done and in just the nick of time too. I'll be in the air in less than ten hours. The wee kilt is to be fastened with ribbons. I was inspired by this thread. The tapered waist on it is an experiment. I'm sure the tapering would be smoother with less yardage (there's a full four yards in this little guy), but I think it works pretty well. The full reveal of all this work will have to wait until after the wedding.

    Lightbulb

    X:
I don't know if you thought of this, (who am I kidding, of course you did), but when I saw the xose flashes cut on the diagonal, I realized that it creates a unique "artist's embedded signature." The weave of the fabric, especially the white lines, makes the letter X. Brilliant.

There were many pictures taken, most better than this, but here is one good enough to share already.
The Muted kilt I didn't sew, but the others worn were.
To say that we are all pleased to be able to wear these kilts sewn by a family member
makes us proud and happy is a bit of an understatement.
To add to the family involvement, the bride's mother hand wove the hand fasting ribbons,
one in MacFarland Red Modern which was later presented to the groom with his MacFarland crest kilt pin,
the other in MacDonald of Clanranald Modern which you see now clasped to the bride's shoulder with a Clanranald crest pin.
The weaving job on these was absolutely top notch too!

It was a lovely and HOT evening, a beautiful ceremony and terrific dinner and party too which included an
unrehearsed and surprisingly good rendition of Barret's Privateers sung on stage by all the men in this picture.

As I said there are other pictures forthcoming but as I'm still on vacation this is what I can muster for now.

    Let's call this ...

    AFTER

I will say this-You can REALLY see how beautiful your tartan's colors turned up in the custom weave in this picture! Absolutely fantastic!
