Re: A story of Kilted Attention or: Why I can't go commando!
Before going out, I always ask myself the same question -
"Am I wearing the appropriate clothing for the activity in which I will be engaged?"
So often, I change my mind.

Some, I grant you, do match! So it does depend, more than a bit, on which picture we choose to look at.
I know it is a hobby horse of mine ,but one needs to be careful when drawing conclusions from pictures, regardless of the point of view we are trying to express. I do agree with you though, that these differences of tartans when worn together do often, but not always, add to the overall look rather than diminish it.
So, as you can see, the man is back!

No. He will roll his eyes, there in his home in Scotland and carry on without comment. If you go to him and ask him about his opinion concerning your wearing of a tartan kilt with flip-flops, he will tell you his honest opinion, which I daresay will not be terribly favorable. He will be direct, if you ask him, but not rude.
He a good and decent fellow, who lives in the Highlands, and has a few years on him, so he's rather more traditional than some of us. There is room for all sorts of viewpoints here on X Marks, and he will be perfectly happy to allow you to have yours as long as you allow that he has a right to his viewpoint as well.
i wear my kilt somewhat differently from how Jock usually does. Then again, sometimes I wear it in a manner that Jock would probably be comfortable with. I, personally, really like the man, whether we agree all the time or not, and I'm glad that he's back here, posting at X Marks again.

Am sure there are a lot of us that are pleased to see Jock back with us. I, for one, always respected his opinions

I know it may not be a "WooHoo" moment for a lot of folks but I was a puppy doing back flips when I got a phone call from Jock a year and a half ago when I was in Scotland playing golf. We talked for several minutes as if we had known each other for years, which electronically we have. Too bad we were several hours apart despite both being "in country". I too relish the return of our grandmaster of kilting, traditional scottish style, and master of wit and wisdom.

Brooke can vouch for this.
A couple of years ago he visited Page. We were having lunch at a restaurant at a local marina. A drunk...no really drunk...lady approached us and began with the what's under the kilt? line. He, being taken, did better than I did. After putting up with all her drunken babbling her friends finally got her over to their boat and made preparation to get under way. I walked over to the boat - and having some fun - calling her on her shyte....showed her. Kind of fun to watch her gasp in fear/amazement as the boat pulled away from the dock. Could not have been a pretty sight....
So ladies - be CERTAIN you really wanna know the answer. It ain't always pretty....
My question is why can't the questioning ladies ever be sober??
