Upcomong events in New Mexico?
Greetings!
Does anyone know of any upcoming event in New Mexico in the not-too-distant future? All I know of is the Cetic Festival in May. I haven't heard a thing about Tartan Day nor anything else...

The two activities that I've heard about are being organized by the St Andrew's Society of New Mexico.
Tartan Day April 6th at The Fat Squirrel in Rio Rancho at 6:00pm and the following Saturday at The Quarters on Wyoming, also at 6:00pm.
I'm sure that either one or both O'Neill's, in Albuquerque, will have something going on but I don't know for sure at the moment.

Thanks much! I checked the SASSNM site (http://nmscots.org) but all it said was "Tartan Day Celebration, April 2011 - TBD". Good to have more details -- unfortunately, it looks like I have scheduling conflicts (according to my wife, that is)...

Two Fools Tavern
So...it turns out the scheduling conflict was because my daughter is planning to treat me to a night out on National Tartan Day (April 6) at Two Fools Tavern in Albuquerque (http://www.2foolstavern.com). Should be fun!

Two Fools is probably my favorite pub in Albuquerque.

Albuquerque Tartan Day Events
Not a whole lot happening that I can find...
Two Fools Tavern (http://2foolstavern.com) on Central says "We'll have haggis for sure and probably pipers because we did last year.".
O'Niell's Irish Pub (http://www.oniells.com) on Juan Tabo has the Tir Conaill Irish Step Dancers at 6:00 PM and the High Desert Pipes & Drums (http://hdpd.org) at 7:00 PM.
I'll see if I can't sleuth out other events. ith:

If you don't have a picture...
I reckon it must've happened -- because here are some pics
April 6, 2011.
It wsn't easy getting "oot and aboot" with crutches and legs swollen to 4 times normal sizes, but I did it!
This is me outside the Two Fools Tavern in Albuquerque, NM.
This is my daughter Heather.
This is Russell (Owner? Manager?) of Two Fools Tavern.
Russell and I were the only two kilted gentleman there at the time.
That is, until these two showed up a little after 6:00 PM...
This is Zach and Bill Horn (Pipe Major) of High Desert Pipes & Drums (http://hdpd.org).
As always, the music by HDPD was top-notch. The food was, in a word, glorious. I had the Haggis, Neeps & Tatties. My daughter Heather had the Fish & Chips (Best in Albuquerque) - of course I had some of the Fish and Chips too For desert we had the Guiness Brownie. Totally recommend everything.
This was my first time to visit Two Fools Tavern, but I definitely plan on going again - hopefully many, many times .
