Kilted on a very windy spring day.
The temp is about 60 degrees out, which means I would usually be wearing my USAK casual at this point, because anything else would be to bloody hot. But the winds are hitting 20 to 30 mph gusts, so the USAK is right out. So I settled on the Stillwater Blackwatch Heavyweight, no sox, and my spiffy Neo Brogues.
All images go clicky pop to much larger versions, but not to large. I kept them at dialup friendly settings.
The dog is there for your viewing enjoyment. Try to focus more on the dog, it makes the big hairy git in the background a good deal more bearable.

Normally my gut isn't quite that chunky. Bad IBS day. I think I was up to a full 48 today, instead of my usual 44 or so inch waist. Ugh. I hate it when pictures do that.
As an aside, how does the khaki shirt look with blackwatch? I rather like it, but a couple of folk said it didn't look right. As I recall, blackwatch was worn with khaki accessories by soldiers, right?

I clicky popped all the pictures individually to see the larger views and the kilt and shirt go well together. The black dog goes well with the dark kilt too. You mention that it was windy but the kilt seems to be behaving very well and unfazed by the wind. We are getting mild windy weather too - TV weather report says today's afternoon temperature is more typical of April - A few bluebells and daffodils peeking out of the soil - I really do hope spring has arrived early.

The Stillwater Heavyweight tips in at 13 ounces, but behaves rather well in the wind. I've stood in 50mph gusts with out to many problems, and have been out kilted in a hurricane with it.
The trick is, spread your legs wide and let the wind blow through you. Keep your legs narrow and you build up surface tension, and your aprons act like sails. Wide stance, and the aprons buckle between your legs and let the wind pass through with very little lift.
I hope that made sense.
