    Strange but True...

I thought that after 7 years of wearing a kilt, I'd exprerienced most of the follies one might associate with them.

    Wrong!

A few weeks back, I was at a small restaurant with a group of people my wife works with. It was a live band on stage and I was watching them work as I took off my leather bomber jacket and put it over the back of my chair. I did the usuall butt-sweep and tuck and then proceeded to sit. Unfortunately, the weight of the jacket had not only pulled the chair backwards to the floor, but also silenced the fall as I majestically sprawled onto the floor... pleats, legs, and arms flailing. Immediately, the group broke into chuckles and laughter as I attempted to recover a bit of my dignity. I shrugged, smiled, and carried on... but from a couple of the comments, I apparently revealed more than my lack of attentiveness. Oh well. I will certainly be paying more attention in future, I can tell you!

Well in just over 5 years of on again off again kilting I can say that hasn't happened to me yet, the closest I have come was the last kilt night I went to, but I noticed the chair on the floor. Good story.

    NICE one Blu!

I didn't have a simlar experience, but a similar ENDING on Patty's Day 3 years ago... not SLOPPY drunk, but drunk none-the-less. the X-girlfriend and I were in a pub with the tables cleared out near the end of the night. The band playing on stage were friends of ours and we knew the pub owners. Most of the other patrons were gone, but there were still a good handful of people left carrying on and having a good time.

We were sort of "swing dancing" (if you want to call it that) to Irish music. I dipped her and then she decided she was going to try to dip me. Well, needless to say that she wasn't as strong as her "beer muscles" thought, so I ended up going right thru her arms onto the floor... Sprwaled out with my legs in the air, clutching to keep the front apron down as I fell in what seemed like slow motion to the floor. I landed on my back with my legs LITERALLY up in the air in a V FACING a group of girls, with my hands TRYING to contain my modesty. I got a few hoots and hollers after that little display.

Please note that NO ONE WILL HELP YOU UP... you'll have to take the full brunt of the humiliation. HAHAHAHA

Or in my case, rounding the corner on an icy day and hitting an unexpected slick spot... went down a$$ over teakettle right in front of a crowd. Luckily nothing was injured except my pride!

I have absolutely NO doubt, something like this will inevitably happen to me. Let's just say that I am well known for my lack of grace and coordination.

The only time I somewhat revealed myself was in the hospital parking lot. Nikki and I had gone to see my sister when she had the twins. We were in the lot walking to the Blazer when... I don't know why... I decided to do a little twirl to screw with Nikki. She's more concerned with me revealing myself than I am, usually. Anyhow, I guess I put a little too much spin in it (plus it was a lightweight kilt) and she immediately went red as her head darted left to right to see if I had been spotted. Nobody else was out there. And, if they were there were no hoots and/or hollers. haha. Good times.

Oh if that ever happens to my husband I'll die laughing!!!! I'll be the first to point. I predict it will happen the very day he decides to go regimental. It will probably be at the Flying Saucer. I can see it happening now. I'm laughing already. This will be his precursive punishment for the day he wanders too close to the woman wearing a kilt-inspector t-shirt. HA! I can't call it justice yet, but it will be.

    Blu,

That is one thing that has never happened to me yet, but it has been in the back of my mind.

Lately I have been having to walk gingerly as a little bit of ice hangs around from place to place. Last night as I was walking I did hit a slight piece of ice and did the splits. Luckily I did not fall and a friend was walking beside me so no unexpected exposure.

I've got one of those WPG kilts, and sometimes I do a spin to hit a friend with those super-heavy box pleats. Thankfully, I haven't exposed anything yet.
