how do you feel about a kilt being worn as a fashion statement?
1.I think its wrong because a kilt/tartan is a sign of heritage not something thats worn to be seen as rebelious or different.
2.I think its great because it popularizes the kilt.
3.Its good but I feel there should be a line of sorts drawn to bring respect to the kilt and its meaning.
4.I dont care.
5. I think its wrong because they are wearing the kilt for the wrong reason.

I'm torn between #2 and #4.
Not as contradictory as it may sound. It's great if it popularises the kilt more but I have never cared much for the fashion industry where something is in one minute and old hat the next.
The proof is in whether it leads to more widespread and regular wearing of the kilt.

I say #2.
I'm not Scottish, and may only be a lil bit Irish. So if its all about heritage than I shouldn't be allowed to wear it. I wear it because it is so comfortable and women seem to actually notice me.
I think if more guys wore them they'd all be happier. Something about the feel of the freedom makes me happier...

All reasons to wear a kilt are good reasons I think. I really don't care why someone wears a kilt as long as he wears it well and doesn't behave like a complete idiot.

#6. I don't mind it being worn, as long as it is a kilt and not a fashion industry knock-off.

I'm definitely a #2. Although I do wear traditional kilts some days I also wear single colour kilts, non-wool kilts, camo kilts, cargo kilts.

2, I suppose, with a leaning towards 3.

In my opinion it's between #2 and #4. I like seeing so many people wearing Kilts, but even if no one was I'd still continue to wear them.

The more kilts I see in any form for any reason, the happier I am. : p
