Highland Holiday 2006 #8
Here are the last few pictures in the series.
Another view of Ullapool.
The Stornoway Ferry departs Ullapool for the Isle of Lewis. Despite being in Ullapool for five days this was the only time I managed to see it!
Statue of Highlands aviation pioneer Capt. E E Fresson at Inverness Airport. Plus fours rather than a kilt alas!
The closest I got to Loch Ness - flying over it in a plane! Next time I will get closer!
That's all folks!
These pictures have been previously uploaded on my photo blog site www.fotothing.com/cleftref

Very nice pics, Trefor. One of the 'planes which I used to wash and valet for pocket money when I was a student was named in honour of Captain E.E.Fresson. I'd often wondered how he looked.
Regional Director for Scotland for Clan Cunningham International, and a Scottish Armiger.

Trefor, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for these photos! My heart is still in the old country and you have eased my temporary estrangement from it. Thank you so much!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Trefor, more great photos - just like those you have shown us previously. I do not think I have asked this before, but what camera(s) do you use?

The camera I used for the recent spate of pictures is a Konica-Minolta Z5 Hamish, that I bought in March 2005 for my trip to the USA.
I also have a Fuji Finepix S9500 which I bought for a trip to Cyprus but so far only used it for that as the Z5 is smaller and lighter, especially when flying.
I shall try to put the Fuji through its paces on my next Scotland trip though!

Ah, that is interesting, Trefor. I have only the one digital camera now and that is also a Fuji Finepix S9500! After two years of ownership I still have not switched from 'Auto' to 'Manual', but it is a great, if somewhat large, camera.
I loved my old Canon SLR with its case full of interchangeable lenses, filters, etc. (which I still have as there is no market for them thesedays) but there is no way I would lug all that gear around with me now, and as for the film processing........
