    Sgian Dubh - Mark II

Finished the second sgian dubh today. This one has the damascus blade with ebony handle and sheath. Bolster and top are both artificial jade.

Tonight I had an opportunity to go kilted to a meeting. So here is my DIY sgian dubh, with my DIY kilt pin on a DIY box pleat kilt!!!!

Thanks for all the comments on my previous post.

Did not keep a note of the time, but probably no more than four hours. Did a lot of the shaping on a bench mount belt sander and, of course had to wait while the epoxy set up hard.

Looks great! Every time I see these I'm inspired to try this myself. What a great heirloom piece to pass down one day.

That one is awesome. The jade works really well with the ebony.
