Are Lewis Hose Cooler in Summer?

So, I've become a Lewis hose junkie - the ones from the Scottish Tartans Museum. They kept me just as warm as wool hose last winter and through the spring storms.

But the hot weather is back in Arizona. Guess I'm looking for other experiences...it seems to me that the Lewis hose are cooler in the heat.

I know my wool hose would be too hot to wear as the temp creeps up into the 80s F...but my Lewis hose are still comfy.

Am I imagining this - or are the nylon, lycra, and acrylic fibers less warming than all wool?

I know this won't hold up when it hits 90 and 100 degrees F here soon, but its nice to have more days of wearing pulled up kilt hose than I'd expected.

Is it real?....or just my imagination?

Heck, I guess anything's impossible huh? I don't have any yet. But, the mixed fibres could possibly be breathing better than the wool? Like a thermos maybe? Keeps cool cooler and hot hotter?

    I don't know... just rambling...

I think they help wick away from your skin and breathe nicely, both of which are gonna make them more wearable in the warm weather. It's also what you get used to/convince yourself is comfy. I thought I'd die wearing long sleeves and long p@nts my first extended stay @ Death Valley, but found it was much more comfortable (and safer) than shorts. There may come a (warm) day you have to peel them off - just don't forget your sunscreen on that day!
