Braveheart has returned
What a nice surprise! in the mail yesterday I had my Braveheart tartan kilt returned from Celtic Croft.
Some may recall that I was dissappointed with it, it just wasn't made the way most of us here have come to prefer.
After negotiating a reasonable fee with Joseph Croft, the kilt has been remade and looks really fine, a very wearable kilt.
While the cloth is coarse and a wee bit prickly compared to other wools, it's not unpleasant to wear. I love the earthy colours.
As soon as I can I'll post some piccies, but for now I wanted to confirm that Celtic Croft have done well by me and that I would be happy to deal with them again.

I know one of the things you wanted changed was to have the pleats sewn down. Did you also have the straps redone or was that not an issue?

I recall that thread and also that the tartan was really very nice. I look forward to seeing the refitted kilt.

Correct Grant, you have a fine memory!
The pleats have been sewn in the normal fashion from about six inches down from the top, but not full length. The straps have been redone, a partial liner added inside top.
The only small matter is that there are no belt loops, I didn't think to mention it, I guess I assumed that was part of a normal casual kilt. No matter really, hardly worth mentioning.
Overall it has a much better shape and fit.

Another fine tartan idea for those who worry they have no clan affiliation.
Tis a pretty one. Glad all worked out.

Nice photos Graham - your kilt looks right at home in the great outdoors!

Nice to hear, Graham, nice to hear. I'm curious to see how your fondness for the kilt develops over time, I think it's a good looking tartan and I think it looks much better now, than then. I may send Mr. Croft my ancient Black Watch, pv, box pleated philabeg for revision into a box pleated tailored kilt. It's always nice to hear about good customer service!

That looks mighty nice. Glad to hear it all worked out for you
