Brodie Hunting Ancient Kilt
I received my newest kilt from Kathy Lare a few weeks ago but have only just now been able to post some pictures. This kilt is in Locharron's Brodie Hunting Ancient in their 16 ounce Strome. It has a double fringe on the right edge of the apron.
This kilt has two straps on the right and one on the left. The left strap goes through a button hole to mate with the buckle. This is no doubt traditional fare, but I can only compare to my first kilt, a box-pleat by Matt with just two straps.
This is my first knife-pleated kilt. I like the swing it produces while walking . The pleating to sett is amazing to me.
I'm wearing a new belt I had made for my Don McKee thistle belt buckle. It is a good match for my thistle kilt pin.

Great looking kilt and you are obviously very proud to wear it. I wish you good health to wear it.

Wow, what a sharp looking kilt that is, and a great tartan! I'm considering having Kathy make me a Navy MBP... your kilt has pushed me a little further in that direction, so thanks for posting the pictures!

What a stunning tartan and kilt - the belt and buckle are spectacular too. Congratulations on your choices.

That's a beautiful kilt, and a great job on the belt, Abax

Kathy is a dear to deal with. I've not comissioned her for a kilt (so many kiltmakers, so little money ) but, I have have done business with her. She makes very lovely kilts. Just ask Ron (Riverkilt) . I'm sure he'll chime in... he can sniff her name out of a post pretty quickly. You're a lucky man. Two "traditional" wool kilts... one from Matt and one from Kathy. WOW.

Another wonderful piece of craftmanship from Kathy! And an impressive tartan to boot!
