NH Highland games at LOON Mtn.

Anyone heading to the games? I will probably be there on Sunday to cheer on one of my close friends "Will" at the Highland Amature events.
we will also be looking forward to seeing Albancah and 7 Nations.

I have plans to. Along with a coworker, and my mother. I'm trying to get her used to kilts as an acceptable garment.

I just got my tickets in the mail

I'll be arriving Friday afternoon and camping through Sunday at the LaFayette campground nearby.

I've got my weekend pass in hand, and I'm camping at the Lafayette campground in franconia notch from thursday night through saturday night. (driving up thursday after work) I believe that Emolas has the campsite beside mine, so if anyone else is in the area we can maybe get a little xmarks gettogether / cookout.

Don't forget to look out for the 'Geoffrey (Tailor)/21st Century Kilts' booth at the Loon Mountain Games. When you see Hugh and Tristan working there, tell them that Hamish Bicknell sent you. Above all, enjoy the games.

Hamish, Will be glad to. Do they typicaly have a booth there, or is this a new thing? All the way across the big blue...The Business must be worth it.

Hi Richland,

I am not sure whether they have been to the New Hampshire Highland Games before, but my guess is that they have. Every year they put in an appearance at about four or five of the biggest (or most important) Highland Games across the USA. For example: three weeks ago they were at Pleasanton, California. The following weekend they were at the Longes Peak Festival in Colorado and last weekend it was the turn of Sky Meadows in Virginia. This coming weekend they are at Loon Mountain and, finally for 2007, Geoffrey (Tailor)/21st Century Kilts will be at Stone Mountain, Georgia on October 20th/21st.

Yes, I guess the business they do justifies the expense - Hugh and Tristan are based in Edinburgh so they have to be flown over, together with stock and display items, and accommodated. No doubt there is a certain amount of promotional benefit to be had in addition to direct sales.

I would just add that they also participate in the Scottish Village, which is a week-long fair held here in NYC as a part of our Tartan Week celebration in April.

They do indeed, Galician, and I was invited to join them there - and to take part in the 'Dressed to Kilt' event that week, but I was unable to leave here at that particular time.
